Privacy Policy

Loca Deserta: Settlers is a space colony builder and real-time strategy game made by Dmytro Gladkyi (Loca Deserta). In short: the game collects no personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
What we collect
Nothing. The game does not ask for your name, email address, location, contacts or any other personal information, and it does not send information about you or your device to us or to anyone else.

- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, crash reporting or usage statistics.
- No in-app purchases.
Android, desktop and other installed versions
Your saved games and settings are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. They never leave your device unless you export a save yourself through the system file picker; you then choose where it goes.
Uninstalling the app deletes its saves. The installed versions are single-player and do not connect to other players.
The Android app requests no permissions beyond network access, which the app framework declares by default. The game does not use it to send any data.
The browser version
In the browser at settlers.locadeserta.com/game/, saves and settings are kept in your browser's local storage on your computer. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
Multiplayer exists only in the browser version. It runs peer to peer: players' browsers connect directly to each other. To find each other, they exchange short connection messages through public relay services (Nostr relays or an MQTT broker), and they use public STUN/TURN servers, operated by Google, Cloudflare and Open Relay, to establish or relay the connection. As with any direct connection, the other players in your room, and these services, can see your IP address. The player name you type is shown to the others in the room. These services are run by independent third parties under their own privacy policies; we do not run them and receive nothing from them.
This website
settlers.locadeserta.com is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may record standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to operate and secure the service, as described in GitHub's privacy statement. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal data from anyone, children included.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Your saves are under your control on your own device. If you have a question about privacy, you can still write to us and we will answer.
Changes and contact
If the game ever starts collecting data, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
